Park Hyatt is my second home in Vienna! And I really take it serious. I was in Vienna a couple weeks ago and chose to stay at the property again, only to realize that Park Hyatt not only kept its high standards but got even better. It is a great pleasure to share with you the details of my stay at my favorite hotel in town. Enjoy the ride!
It is not the first time I write about the hotel and you can read my first article here. I mentioned in my previous text that my husband grew up in Vienna and that I lived in the city for a while. Ah! Miss this time!

Vienna certainly ranks among my top five European cities and whenever I visit, I confess that it is hard to leave. It actually gets even harder when staying in such a gorgeous location as Park Hyatt. Haha!

By the way, if you cannot wait until you finish this text to book your room/suite, you can do it here.

THE HOTEL
Park Hyatt Vienna is the first Park Hyatt hotel in Austria. And there couldn’t be a better debut – it opened its doors in a 100 year old building which used to be a bank.

I am talking about unparalleled elegance and a sophisticated enriching experience for any type of traveler. An amazing combination of exquisite interior with high-quality products and outstanding service will certainly please the most distinctive guest and guarantee a rare and intimate experience tailored to meet individual preferences.

Park Hyatt in Europe tends to make use of one or another distinguished bit of local architecture and in Vienna this is easy to realize at a first glance! Most of the features of the ancient building were kept and entering the hotel may even cause a little confusion: how can it be so contemporary and so historic at the same time??? I always wonder the same. Haha!

Last but not least, expect some highly professional hospitality, a lively atmosphere and attention to detail. Always with a smile.
LOCATION
Unbeatable! Unbeatable! Unbeatable! You can search all around and you will not find a better location in Vienna. Park Hyatt is conveniently located in the heart of the city center, within the most exclusive shopping district in town – just a few steps away from the celebrated fashion houses, boutiques, cafés and restaurants of Tuchlauben and Kohlmarkt. Also, it is possible to walk to almost all of the most significant sites, historical monuments and museums.

– St Stephan’s cathedral (probably the most popular sight in Vienna)
– Goldenes Quartier
– Opera House
– Hofburg Palace
– Ringstrasse
– Museum of Modern Art (MUMOK)
– Museum of Applied Arts (MAK)
– Leopold Museum
– Spanish Riding School
– Volksgarten
– Ferstel Passage
Among the exclusive great restaurants and cafés in the area, some are located right in the hotel, like the The Bank Brasserie & Bar.

Finally, there is no better luxury than being able to explore a city by foot and enjoy some local wine and food, while knowing that your hotel is just around the corner, in a car-free area.

ROOMS AND SUITES
The 143 luxurious – and very spacious – guest rooms (Including 35 suites) present exquisite décor, unique contemporary design and a sophisticated Viennese atmosphere.

Elements of wood, marble and mother of pearl welcome you in every room and the all white marble bathroom has a separate bathtub and a rain shower, heated floors, flatscreen TV…

… and exclusive amenities by Blaise Mautin!!! Make sure to leave your shampoo at home to get addicted to this brand. Yeah! Amenities are replaced several times a day.

The Presidential Suite
Nothing had prepared me for that, folks! Of course I thought it would be beautiful but as soon as I entered the room I just couldn’t believe my eyes. Not only because it is huge (170 square meters) But, even more, due to incomparable furnishings and artwork.

There are a living and dining area for entertaining up to eight guests, a fully equipped kitchen, a dressing room, a sleeping room with a mother-of-pearl adorned canopy king bed, two bathrooms, a writing room and as if this wasn’t enough…

The details that totally got my heart: historically restored walls, chevron flooring, a traditional Austrian Lobmeyer crystal chandelier, a Bösendorfer piano and breathtaking panoramic views of the historic old town.

Now you tell me, how can I leave such a room to go visiting other places? That’s a hard task. Hahaha! The only reason not to feel so guilty is that well, this room is also culture. Right?!

Other services and amenities of the Presidential Suite are:
– 40” or larger flat-screen TV
– Built-in TV in bathroom mirror
– Individually controlled heat and air conditioning
– Hair dryer
– Iron and ironing board
– Minibar
-Coffeemaker and tea setup
– Refrigerator
-In-room laptop-sized safe

Even more services and facilities that might be of interest are: 24-hour in-room dining, 24-hour concierge service, business centre, laundry and dry cleaning with same day returning, VIB (very important baby) for families and VID (very important dog) because dogs are totally welcome at the property.
EAT
There are four restaurants and bars at the property and each of them offers different and unique cuisine. There is always a good option at any time of the day. Room service is definitely really good too and everything we tried was delicious.

This is my favorite! A total hotspot for gourmands and cosmopolitans. Myself included. Hahaha! I totally recommend this restaurant for people who are not staying at the hotel as well. There is a private entrance, so you won’t have to cross the lobby to get to The Bank.

Located in the heart of the building, this restaurant and bar presents an exceptional dining experience in a warm sophisticated atmosphere. All the last times we were in Vienna we dined here and well, there might be a reason for that. We love it! It is not only beautiful, but also serves delicious food.

The cuisine focuses on newly interpreted brasserie classics, making use of sustainable locally sourced ingredients. I go crazy with the stunning open kitchen and always try to get a table close to it in order to see the action.

If the intention is to be close to the kitchen, make sure to book the chef’s table. I have never had this experience but each and every time I am at The Bank I promise myself that I will give it a go during my next visit. This chef’s table is especially nice because guests sit right in between the two kitchen islands – so you pretty much can see everything that’s going on.

Pairing the state of the art cuisine, I cannot forget mentioning the unusual setting – a former bank with its imposing high ceilings and a strong art nouveau (jugendstil, in german) influence. Attention to the original clock, the über high ceilings and the amazingly huge flowers that are used in the decoration.

The beautiful bar has an extensive wine list offering including prime Austrian as well as international wines and famous signature cocktails. See the new tasty signature cocktails here.

Feel free to go for dinner, for a drink at the bar or, even better, for both. Make sure to reserve a table if you want to have dinner. See the menu and reserve here.
Breakfast is served at The Bank, as well as brunch, on Sundays (WONDERFUL!). If you followed my stories on Instagram you already know that it is unmissable!

Say “hi” to Bernhard if he is around and he will guide you with the biggest smile and explain everything about the products they serve: almost everything is from local producers and bio. There is even a machine that guests can use to create their own inventions of natural juices – you choose your ingredients, add to the machine and voilá!

Cafe Am Hof
Inspired by the charming Viennese coffee houses of the 19th century, this café is a perfect meeting point at anytime of the day. And it is absolutely beautiful.

From a typical Wiener Melange to home made Austrian cakes or breakfast or a quick bite… there are never ending choices. The hard part? Choose your your favorite!

I never leave without sitting outside on a beautiful day to watch people while sipping a good glass of Rosé. Make sure to try the Wiener Schnitzel and the Tafelspitz. I prefer the first while my husband always goes fot the second.

Lounge
The perfect place to relax while drinking a glass of champagne or some coffee/tea and to try some Viennese pastry specialties.

Small dinner and breakfast are also available and popular in the city. I always see locals around.

Living Room
This is the place to be for rum and cigar lovers. Find the perfect atmosphere to enjoy whiskey, cognac and the best and most unique cigars. I am talking about Havana Club reunion and Cohiba Siglo VI, for example. It is one of the best kept secrets in the city due to its very posh and classy environment.

CONCIERGE
An amazing magician team! Whatever question or whish one might have, they will make it happen.
They say the words “no” and “can’t” are not in their vocabulary. And they mean it. Haha! I admit that I am a very picky guest and that I have tried them 1 million times to always get surprised. Thumbs up, guys!
Finding a cool bar open at 4:00 am for a last drink? Getting THE table at THAT restaurant? It will happen. They really do anything at any time as long as it is not illegal, immoral or unethical.
Honestly, I am sometimes a little bit scared of these guys because I have the feeling that they read my mind or that they know me. Hahahah! How can they understand our needs so fast?
By the way, as soon as you book your room, the concierge team will be available to organize whatever even before you leave your house. Make use of it!
I talk to Karim most of times and this guy knows everything cool that is going on in Viena. Don’t prepare in advance and let him do the work for you. 🙂
ARANY SPA
Imagine a unique swimming pool. Now you multiply it by 1 million and there you go, this is the swimming pool at park Hyatt Vienna. It is not by chance that I am using the swimming pool for the second time to illustrate the cover of my article. I just can’t get enough of it!

Where else can you find a swimming pool that is located in a former bank vault? So special! Each and every time I stay at Park Hyatt Vienna I make sure to go for a swim in the morning or at night. So so relaxing!
Ah! And pay attention to the music playing under water. 🙂

There is also a relaxation room, a separate wet area with sauna, steam bath, sanarium and vitality shower, six spa suites including a couple spa suite and various massages, cosmetic and beauty treatments.

GYM
There is a state of the art gym in the hotel, also downstairs. Nevertheless, I never had the time to use it.
HOTEL ACTIVITIES
– Personal training
– Sunday brunch at the bank (don’t miss it)
– Spirits tasting flight
– Photo shooting with your four-legged friend
– Live music every first Wednesday of the month at The Bank bar (normally jazz music and super cool!)
This is all, Folks! I tried my best to tell my experience in detail but honestly? It is a place to be seen with your own eyes! I will soon be back!
Hope you are traveling with me on Instagram at @marineira.
