Ahhh the Buddha-Bar Hotel Paris… This summer the hotel displays an air of Jungle chic, though with its usual Asian cultural slant: tropical plants and succulent in burnt wood containers, black rattan chairs, lanterns and so on. The feel is of perfect fusion, oriental touches and French tradition in total harmony.
I spent some days at this Parisian institution last week and will tell you in detail what to expect when booking a room at this amazing property! Join me!
As some of you know, I lived in Paris more than 15 years ago and it was an experience of a lifetime. I went with the idea of learning the language, which I did, but the reality is that I learned much more than that. Paris totally changed my life in terms of culture and made me much more aware of beauty and attention to detail. I miss those days badly and this city will always have a special place in my heart.
I still remember the first time I entered the Buddha-Bar in Paris and I was like WOW. It was so pretty and so exotic and different that it took me a while to get used to the ambience. After this first time, many others followed and I collected great memories about this place.

Therefore, I was very excited to stay at the Buddha-Bar Hotel in Paris. It had been a while I was planning to stay there. A city I love and a place that is so dear to me could only be a great idea.
LOCATION
Placed in an outstanding location in the heart of Paris, between Place de la Madeleine and Place de la Concorde, in the Faubourg St Honoré, the Buddha-Bar hotel in Paris is close (walking distance) to many of the most important sites os interest of the city and last but not least, the neighbourhood (8th arrondissement) is the finest Haute Couture and luxury shopping district in Paris. Also, while staying in this hotel, your neighbour will be the president of France, as the Élysée Palace is just around the corner.

Saint-Laurent, Givenchy, Gucci, Prada, Louboutin, etc, etc, etc will be at your “garden” just as Fauchon, Furterer Spa and some of the best restaurants and bistros in Paris.

EXPERIENCE
Entering the Buddha-Bar Hotel will immediately take you somewhere else that looks far away from Paris. Nevertheless, within seconds you will realize the strong French classic presence. It is a luxurious design, celebrating the fusion between a Parisian mansion and neo-asian decor. Beautiful!!!

The building is an architectural heritage from the early 18th century, a genuine “Hôtel Particulier” built for the royal entertainer of King Louis XV, Augustin Blondel de Gagny. I went absolutely crazy about the idea of staying in such a building. Let’s admit it feels quite royal. Haha!

Service rocks at this property! Since the moment we walked in, staff was always ready to help on anything we needed. They took us on a tour around the hotel and guided us to our room, where every detail was explained and where some cool amenities had been organised for us. I really felt relaxed and taken care of.

Thumbs up to Ben, the super cool Clefs d’or concierge, who knows everything about Paris and all the fancy new places which you HAVE to go to while visiting the city. He not only knew everything and the right days to go to each place but also had all contacts and was very patient and nice with us, as we were changing our minds frequently and organised dinners last minute. Thanks Ben! 🙂
ROOMS & SUITES
Our room was trendy and very spacious. It featured two big windows facing the patio, a comfy extra large bed, a writing table with everything you need to work or write letters and postal cards, a lounge where we enjoyed wine and a great toilette (Japanese style, super fancy) and shower with bath. Amenities are by wonderful Ortigia and replaced in abundance.

As you can see by the picture, our room was absolutely stunning and had a lot of room, something not so easy to find in Paris. We loved it. Honestly, there is no way to go wrong in this hotel because every room and suite is beautifully crafted.
BUT there is one suite in this boutique hotel which is in my heart:

Imagine staying in such a beautiful and historical suite right in the heart of the City of Lights!!! Might be unforgettable.
SPA
What could be better than a Moroccan massage accompanied by a relaxing and immersive music after a whole day strolling through Paris?
The B/Attitude takes its lead from the Buddha-Bar Hotel Paris, integrating core design elements into an interior that awakens the senses. I tried the Marma Therapy after a “hard day” walking all around the city and it was the best idea I could have had. 🙂

RESTAURANTS
– Summer Terrace
The beautiful garden courtyard at Buddha-Bar Hotel is always busy. It is a meeting point not only for guests but also for people working and living in the neighbourhood or the habitués. I found it very pleasant to just sit back there to sip some champagne and watch people.

The bar at the terrace, a partnership with Veuve Clicquot, offers tasty cocktails, great wine and a menu which combines Eastern and Western flavours including crisp salad with fungi and nori seaweed and spicy tuna tacos.

– Restaurant Le Vraymonde
Inspired by the fusion concept that characterises the Buddha-Bar spirit, the menu of the Restaurant Le Vraymonde combines Eastern and Western flavours. The result is fresh delicious Pan-Asian cuisine, in which the brilliant blending of the gastronomic traditions of France and Asia is particularly bold, innovative, well presented and delicious.

Breakfast is served in this space and it is very complete. Buffet style and healthy, featuring a lot of fruits, a huge selection of cheeses, breads, fresh mozzarella, all sort of jams and natural juices. I specially liked their green juice, which I drank everyday.

Brunch is very popular on Sundays from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. Book in advance.
Find out more about the restaurant and the brunch here.
– Lounge Bar Le Qu4tre
Voted the best bar in Europe in 2014-2015, Lounge and Bar Le Qu4tre is a place where mixology is taken very serious. The cocktails are based around the four elements (water, air, fire and earth) and the ambience very intimist and private.

I fell in love with the decor of this place and its cocktails!!! Would love to have enjoyed more but on warm days, most of people would choose to sit outside.

As you can see, I had an amazing stay in Paris. Buddha-Bar Hotel was a fantastic choice and I definitely will be back sooner than later. Staff, service, location, design and cuisine all excellent!
The Buddha-Bar hotel is a member of beloved Preferred Hotels & Resorts and you can find more cool hotels here.
I hope you enjoyed the read.

What a stunning hotel. Getting transported into such a different world within the city of Paris would surely take some re-orientation. Interiors and the food seems amazing.
Buddha-Bar Hotel looks gorgeous, and look at the design of the spa! I really want to visit Paris again. Stunning pictures too.

Wow! The cafe is really quirky! From its interiors, I wouldn’t guess for it to be in Paris! Going back to a city where you lived 15 yrs back does bring back such nostalgia! The archiecture is stunning. The spiral staircase that just so curvy is perfect! The rooms are so royal!
Right on! I’m absolutely sold. I think this calls for a spontaneous trip back to Paris!
It looks seriously amazing! I especially love the stairs but the whole design is so unique, I’ll keep it in mind for the next time that I will visit Paris!
Stunning! I’m not a big fan of fancy hotels, but this one really has that “je ne sais quoi” 🙂
